I have been training athletes since 1982. As a graduate assistant coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha and Oklahoma State University and the Head Strength and Conditioning coach for Fresno State University and Oklahoma State University, I worked with a number of collegiate athletes from all sports and backgrounds. In 1997-98 I rounded out my Strength Coaching career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
In 1999 I started Innovative Sports Training with the aspiration of training young athletes and an active adult clientele. The foundation of my beliefs is training the body from the "belly button out". In other words train the core muscles of the midsection, erector muscles(back), and the hips. It has been my observation from decades of training that the bulk of the U.S. population is weak around the core along with tight immobile joints and muscles which leads to imbalances in overall heath and fitness levels.
Innovative Sports Training is dedicated to training and educating coaches, athletes, and the every day man and/or woman to become a more efficient human being in how you run, jump, swim, walk, throw, lift, or compete in the overall game of life. To often we tend to train for aesthetic looks over functional performance. I have a saying "train for health and good looks looks will follow". Conversely, if you train purely for aesthetics you can easily compromise your health and well being.
Stay Healthy!
